I resisted improv for many years… too embarrassed and judgmental of myself. I took a leap though - my journey started in 2015, by going to Chicago for 2 months and taking as many classes as I could at Second City. When I returned to Seattle, I jumped right into classes at Jet City, making some of my best friends. Then, my first week in Los Angeles, I auditioned for Groundlings Classes and dived right in (as well as signing up for UCB classes).
Improv is useful everywhere - when I’m subbing in a first grade classroom or when on stage and a line is dropped. You’ve got to do hundreds of hours of bad improv to really get good.
